RNDr. Marek Žabka, PhD. is a Slovak musicologist and university lecturer. His research focuses on the systematics of musicology and mathematical music theory, with an emphasis on scale theory and neo-Riemannian theories.

 

He is the editor of the proceedings Matematika a hudba (Mathematics and Music) and the author of several scholarly studies in musicology and mathematics, published in English, German, and Slovak. Marek Žabka is also a member of the editorial board of the prestigious Journal of Music Theory (Yale, USA).

 

As an external lecturer, he teaches at the Department of Musicology at Comenius University in Bratislava. In addition to his academic work, he has worked professionally as a project manager in the IT sector.
