Mgr. art. Melánia Puškášová is a Slovak musicologist and editor. Her professional focus is on music journalism for radio. At Radio Devín, she prepares musical and concert broadcasts (programs Hudobná kronika – Music Chronicle, Musica viva, Profily slovenských koncertných umelcov – Profiles of Slovak Concert Artists, and competition program Hrajú si pre potešenie – They Play for Pleasure), live transmissions, and recordings from music festivals (Bratislava Music Festival, Central European Festival of Concert Art in Žilina, New Slovak Music, Konvergencie, Melos – Étos, Days of Early Music) in Slovakia and serves as a presenter for live broadcasts of subscription concerts by the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.

 

 

Since 1995, she has been the author and editor of the artistic and journalistic series Stretnutie nad partitúrou (Meeting Over the Score), dedicated to the latest works by Slovak composers. Since 2004, she has also hosted the program Ars musica, in which she interviews Slovak concert artists, composers, music educators, and organizers of music events.

 

She has contributed as a co-author to the preparation of music-documentary radio programs and features such as Dialógy s hudbou (Dialogues with Music), Spevom k srdcu (Through Song to the Heart), Musica moderna, Hudba XX. storočia (Music of the 20th Century), and Hudba pre pamätníkov (Music for Rememberers).

 

She regularly contributes to the magazines Hudobný život (Music Life) and the journal Slovenská hudba (Slovak Music). She participated in the preparation of entries for the publications 100 slovenských skladateľov (100 Slovak Composers) and Slovník koncertného umenia (Dictionary of Concert Art). She has repeatedly served as a member of the international jury at the Central European Festival of Concert Art in Žilina.
