František Figura has been throughout his concert career active in solo and chamber music, including artistic leadership of ensembles and orchestras. As a soloist he has worked with Slovak Philharmonic, Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina, The Slovak State Philharmonic Košice, South Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic České Budějovice, Carlsbad Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of many conductors (Peter Breiner, Oliver Dohnányi, Mika Eichenholz, Eduard Fischer, Stanislaw Galonski, Karol Kevický, Tomáš Koutník, Tsugio Maeda, Ernst Märzendorfer, Larry Newland, Christian Pollack, Ľudovít Rajter, Alexander Schwinck, Róbert Stankovský, Leoš Svárovský, Jan Valta, Jaroslav Vodňanský, Petr Vronský).

In chamber music he played with Andrea Šestáková, vn, Marie Davidová, vn, Richard Vandra, vc, Matej Arendárik, cmb, Bibiana Figurová, pf, cmb, Ľubica Spurná, cmb, Miroslav Ivaniš, ob, Ján Figura ml., fl, Václav Hudeček, vn, Jindřich Pazdera, vn, Katarína Mikšíková, vn, Ernest Patkoló, vn, Jiří Hanousek, vc, Eiji Arai (Japan), vn, Jiří Hlaváč, cl.

He is co-founder and second violinist in Košice Quartet. In 1993 – 1997 he was the leader of Trávniček Quartet, founded in 1997, and the head of string ensemble Archi di Slovakia of Slovak Sinfonietta. With Archi he performed as a soloist at several domestic festivals (Mozart Festival Bratislava, Bojnice International Summer Festival, the event Čírenie talentov – since 2004 called Talents for Europe, where in 2001 he took over the musical accompaniment of laureates of competition after Bohdan Warchal) and abroad (Wienerfestwochen in Vienna, Haydn-Tage in Vienna, Frühling Festival Wien, Aspekte Salzburg, Johann Straus Vater Festival Wien). He realized a series of recordings in Slovak Radio and many albums with Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina.

Figura is a pedagogue and he is invited to juries of many musical competitions.
