Bratislava Wind Octet was known by its artistic activity since 1972. It was founded by clarinetist Justus Pavlík. The ensemble has begun work with larger instrumentation – also with strings under the name of Bratislava Chamber Harmony. Over time it's become primarily a wind ensemble. Members of the octet come from Bratislava orchestras – Slovak Philharmonic, Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Orchestra of the Slovak National Theatre.

The ensemble has in its repertoire among many works of world authors also works which are connected to the history of musical life of Bratislava and other important cities in Slovakia. The result of tireless artistic production of the group are many concerts at home and abroad. The ensemble attended artistic tours in Austria, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic and United Arab Emirates. Bratislava Wind Octet has realized a number of recordings for radio, television and music publisher OPUS. So far it has released three CDs.
