After Miki Kadlečík left for the Czech Republic, the history of the Bratislava legend Hartus came to an end. Therefore, in 2001, Peter Žalman founded a new group called Žalman Brothers Band, named after the famous southern rock group The Allman Brothers Band. In March 2001, the band performed at the Livin' Blues festival in Bratislava. There, Peter Žalman joined forces with two musicians from the blues-rock band Radio Louxemburg — guitarist and singer Martin Výboch and drummer Erik Kriššák. Together with guitarist Silvester Sališ, they formed the new lineup of Žalman Brothers Band.
The band developed a southern rock style and, besides cover songs, gradually began creating original songs in Slovak. After recording a demo, guitarist Silvester Sališ left the group and was replaced by Martin Varga. For a short period, Martin “Marta” Zúrik also appeared as the band’s vocalist.
With a stable lineup, the group performed intensively in clubs around Bratislava as well as in Austria, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Žalman Brothers Band successfully presented themselves at Czech southern rock festivals in Mlejn and Otrokovice, including Stetson and Bourbon.
In 2003, they recorded Track 1, featuring mainly their own compositions, and in the same year contributed to the compilation Bluesrocková spoločnosť no.4, released under the banner of the Slovenská bluesová spoločnosť in December 2003. Between 2007 and 2008, the band managed to produce several recordings from the Stetson and Bourbon festival, from rehearsals, and from a concert at Frankie Rock Club in Nitra, although the sound quality was not the best. On May 12, 2010, the band performed at Stará Pekárna in Brno, where they successfully recorded and later released another self-produced CD, Live in Stará Pekárna.
At the beginning of 2015, the band finalized recordings for a new album, Som, kto som (I Am Who I Am). At Christmas 2021, they released another album, Od roztočeného sústruhu (From the Spinning Lathe). In 2025, the album Bez prúdu (Unplugged/Without Power) was released, summarizing their career in an acoustic form with guest musician Erich Boboš Procházka.
