Dalibor Karvay: Souvenirs

The CD album Souvenirs, released following Dalibor Karvay’s receipt of the Ľudovít Rajter Award in 2016, presents a selection of his favourite and technically demanding concert “souvenirs” from his recital repertoire. In Karvay’s interpretation, F. Waxman’s Carmen Fantasy, C. Saint-Saëns’s Introduction et Rondo capriccioso, H. Wieniawski’s Polonaise brillante, and M. Ravel’s Tzigane are not merely dazzling displays of the soloist’s extraordinary virtuosity, but above all fully realised concert works of compelling musical appeal. Slovak music is represented by compositions by Ladislav Burlas, Ľudovít Rajter, and Ladislav Kupkovič. The distinguished Slovak violinist is joined by his long-standing artistic partner, pianist Daniel Buranovský.
