This publication brings together twenty-five musical settings of the Lord’s Prayer by Slovak composers, written for solo voice or two voices with keyboard accompaniment and, in some cases, an additional solo instrument—the violin. The contributions by Ján Levoslav Bella, Viliam Figuš-Bystrý, Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský, Frico Kafenda, Alexander Albrecht, Ján Móry, Štefan Németh-Šamorínsky, Jozef Rosinský, Ladislav Stanček, Alexander Moyzes, Eugen Suchoň, Ernő Zahovay, Jozef Malovec, and Peter Martinček not only testify to the enduring appeal of this sacred text but also represent several generations of composers active in Slovakia over the past two centuries.
The edition also includes separate performance parts for practical use.
