Viliam Kořínek was one of the first distinguished Slovak violin pedagogues and the first to systematically codify the methodology of violin playing in Slovakia. His approach extended beyond the development of technical proficiency through disciplined and consistent practice, placing equal emphasis on nurturing the student's artistic individuality.

Kořínek originally intended his Methodology of Violin Playing as a textbook for fifth-year conservatory students. To this day, however, it remains the only Slovak publication to provide a comprehensive treatment of this subject.
