Musicians

A picture book that seeks to present Slovak musicians in both everyday and exceptional situations, as captured by the camera. The photographs were chosen for their power to express a personality, an interaction, a situation, a memorable moment or the atmosphere of a particular period. We wanted to bring together photographs of musicians of different generations and of different specialization: composers and performers, classical musicians, jazzmen and some personalities from the crossover genres. We believe that the Slovak musical culture thrives also on interaction with visiting world-renown musicians and that these visits still linger in our collective memory. Hence the inclusion of pictures made during such rare visits.
