Alexej Temnov

Slovak composer. He received his first musical educaton at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Music School at Uzhgorod, where in 1993–2000 he took lessons in piano and cello playing and composition. In 2003 he was accepted at the Košice Conservatory, where he continued his study of composition. During his studies he took part in the Competitions for the Students of Slovak Conservatories, where he received 1st Prize with his overture for orchestra named Moonsund. Temnov is also a graduate in composition from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (Vladimír Bokes). Since 2007 he has been a regular participant in the Ars Nova Cassoviae Festival of Contemporary Art in Košice and in events held by the Soozvuk Association in Bratislava. Currently he teaches at the Košice Conservatory.
