Marián Zavarský
Marián Zavarský graduated in composition at Bratislava Conservatory with Peter Martinček (2002–2008) and at the Academy of Performing Arts with Ivan Buffa (2009–2014). He completed a study stay at Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna with Reinhardt Karger. He took part in the “Liszt the Progressive” composition course in Eisenstadt in Austria and also in a composition course in Trstěnice in the Czech Republic led by Jeff Beer, Clarence Barlow and Ivo Medek. His works have been heard at many concerts and festivals at home and abroad. Zavarský creates instrumental, vocal, electroacoustic, theatrical and film music. He is a member of the DIY Instruments Ensemble and the ambient-noise project LEaD. He is co-organiser of the project Compositional Laboratory – a concert-educational platform in the field of musical composition. Currently he teaches at Bratislava Conservatory.
