In the field of research she specialises in researching the history of music in 19th century Slovakia in the European context, focusing on source critical, musico-stylistic, musico-analytical and sociocultural aspects, and also on the work of Ján Levoslav Bella.
She is a member of societies and working groups abroad: since 1995 a member of the presidium of IGEB (Internationale Gesellschaft zur Erforschung und Förderung der Blasmusik Graz, Austria); since 1999 a member of the international working group of music historians Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Musikgeschichte in Mittel- und Osteuropa, Universität Leipzig (SRN); 2003 – 2008 expert advisor in the field of Slovak music for the encyclopaedia of music Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart (MGG), second edition, Personenteil and Supplement.
