Prof. PhDr. Eva Szórádová, CSc. is a Slovak musicologist and university professor. Her research focuses on musical instrument making, music history in Slovakia, and the history of music pedagogy. The results of her scholarly research were published in the book Historické klavíry na Slovensku (Historical Pianos in Slovakia, 2004). She is the author of entries on personalities in instrument making for the Encyclopaedia Beliana and the Österreichisches Musiklexikon (Austrian Music Lexicon).
She is a member of several scientific boards, the chair of the Slovak Musicological Association, and serves on the editorial boards of the journal Slovak Music and the international art journal FORTISSIMO (Kharkiv).
She has collaborated with various international institutions (Vienna, Leipzig) and participated in two European Union international research projects.
She completed study stays in Germany (Leipzig, Paderborn) and gave lectures at international conferences in Vienna (1997, 2003), Chemnitz (2007), Leipzig (2008), Bad Arolsen (2001), Michaelstein (2004), Kraków (2007), Bonn (2009), as well as at the IGEB World Congress in Banská Bystrica (1998).
Eva Szórádová teaches at the Department of Cultural Studies, Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, and as a visiting lecturer at the Department of Musicology, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava. She focuses on music-historical subjects (history of music, history of Slovak music) and organological disciplines.
