The chamber orchestra Musica Cassovia consists of prominent string players from the State Philharmonic Košice. The orchestra has had a series of successful concerts at home and abroad (e. g. South Korea, Mexico, Poland, Hungary). It played as a guest at international music festivals such as Convergence, ISCM New Music Days, Festival of Jewish Culture MAZAL TOV!, Košice Music Spring, eduMEMA, ARS NOVA Cassoviae, ANIMA MUNDI – International Festival of Organ and Sacred Music. The orchestra has cooperated with leading conductors and soloists (Milan Turkovič, Jozef Lupták, Milan Paľa, Sergio Azzolini, Robert Cohen, Marek Zwiebel, Michal Červienka, Julia Svěcená and others).
The orchestra participated in educational programs of State Philharmonic Košice and, in our country, the unique project “Live Music In Hospital”. The artistic leader of the ensemble since its foundation in 2015 was Karol Petróczi, long term concert master of State Philharmonic Košice. In 2014 the current concert master of State Philharmonic Košice Maroš Potokár took over the artistic leadership.
