Slovak folk songs

After 1918, his work as a teacher led Mikuláš Moyzes to adopt a more modern view of the role of art as a means of shaping the character and personality of young people. Within this perspective, the folk song became the basis for many of his compositions and choral arrangements. The collection was first published by Matica slovenská in 1938 under the title 30 Slovak Folk Songs for Three-Part Women's Choir. In fact, however, it contains thirty-two songs.
