Juraj Jartim
Slovak composer and conductor. At Bratislava Conservatory he studied conducting (Zdeněk Bílek, Adolf Vykydal)and composition (Juraj Pospíšil). He continued at the Academy of Performing Arts in the field of conducting with Ladislav Slovák and Bystrík Režucha and also at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna in orchestral and choral conducting. He participated in master courses including the I. Stravinsky Master Courses in Mürzzuschlag and Masterplayers in Amsterdam. As conductor or artistic leader he has collaborated with formations including the Tempus Academic Choir, Technik Choir, Cantus Choir, Mürztaler Kammerensemble, Slovak State Philharmonic Košice, Savaria Orchestra Szombathely, ProArteOrchester Wien, Pécs Symphony Orchestra, Bratislava Orchestra of Chamber Opera, RadioSymphonieorchester Wien, Szeged Symphony Orchestra, Neues Zürcher Orchester etc. From 1997 he has been a teacher at the Bratislava Conservatory. In 2011–2014 he graduated in doctoral study of music theory with Eva Ferková. He is also active as a composer who particularly specialises in vocal and choral work, for which he has received a number of awards.
