Jakub Čižmarovič made his debut as a 16-year-old with the Gürzenich Orchestra Köln in the Köln Philharmonia, where he played Chopin’s first piano concerto under the baton of James Conlon. His collaboration with the Gürzenich Orchestra Köln continued in 2005 and 2008 with Markus Stenz conducting. In 2002 he participated in the Best of NRW Festival. That year he made his debut as the youngest participant in the Ruhr Piano Festival, where he was again invited two years later – he performedc in two piano concertos with the Kölner Kammerorchester, led by conductor Helmut Müler-Brühl, in the opening of the festival’s Mozart cycle.

In 2003 and 2006 he again appeared in the Köln Philharmonia, this time with the Slovak Philharmonia. In 2004 he was soloist with the Korean Symphony Orchestra on a tour of South Korea. Afterwards he played in concert with the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock and with conductor David Geringas.

 In the USA he made his debut at the prestigious Ravinia Festival with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of James Conlon with two Mozart concertos, and also solo. In 2007 he performed a number of times in both Brahms concertos, including a guest appearance in the Berlin Konzerthause with Staatskapelle Halle. In 2009, together with the Korean Symphony Orchestra, he completed more than 20 concerts on a tour of China. In the same year he also performed at the Bratislava Music Festival with WDR Radioorchestra Cologne in the Gershwin concerto in F Major. In 2010 he again appeared in concert in Korea, where he performed in Beethoven’s Triconcerto with the Hwaum Orchestra.

He has appeared at numerous recitals, including in the Essener Philharmonie and at Music Festival Biarritz (France), Orpheo Festival (Holland) and other festivals. He regularly gives concerts in Germany and Slovakia, and also in other European states. 

Jakub Čižmarovič has made a series of recordings for the German radio WDR. The German magazine FONO FORUM awarded his CD recording of the works of Schumann and Liszt (2004, BMG publishers) the highest possible ranking in the field of performance.
