“Dubovský, a graduate of the compositional class of prof. J. Cikker, composed several concert instrumental pieces in which he demonstrated qualified ambition in traditional forms (Sonatina for Viola and Piano; Three Dances for Violin and Piano, Stará Suita / Old Suite and others). Practical application as a professional composer led him to a wide range of musical forms, kinds and genres, in which he could use his versatile inventiveness and availability. Of these, the composer's most favorite form of realization became a production of stage and film music, where he could assert a diversity of expressional means."
