After graduating in musicology from the Faculty of Music at the Charles University in Bratislava, Mgr. Katarína Burgrová, PhD. devoted herself to music pedagogy at the Department of Music Education at the Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Performing Arts in Prešov. Together with František Matúš, she was at the birth of the civic association Prešovský hudobný spolok Súzvuk (Prešov Music Association Súzvuk) and is currently its chairwoman. The main activity of this association is the preservation and conservation of musical and cultural heritage. Another area of her activity is concert pedagogy, education of children and youth in the field of musical perception. She is the author and organizer of several music-educational projects for children and youth, for which she has written workbooks for primary school pupils entitled Today we will have classical music and Today we will have opera. She is the editor of several volumes of the source-critical edition of musical works of unknown composers from the 18th century within the framework of the edition of the Prešov Music Association Musica Scepusii Veteris. She cooperates with the Music Centre Slovakia in the preparation of the international music festival Pro musica nostra sarossiensi. He is also engaged in music reviews and journalism.
