Etela Čárska is a Slovak musicologist, music critic, and publicist, and a long-time editor at Slovak Radio. Her work focuses on early music, organ music, and contemporary music, especially by Slovak composers.

In her journalistic activities, she has covered organ-music events such as Slovak Historical Organs, Organ Concerts under the Pyramid, and the Days of Organ Music in Bratislava, as well as numerous concert artists, including Ferdinand Klinda, Ivan Sokol, Irma Skuhrová, Eva Kamrlová, and Ján Vladimír Michalko, among others.

In the field of early music, she has devoted particular attention to ensembles such as the Slovak Chamber Orchestra under artistic director Bohdan Warchal and Musica Aeterna led by Ján Albrecht. She has also shown significant interest in the work of the Experimental Studio of Slovak Radio, as well as in the music of Slovak composers such as Alexander Moyzes, Jozef Malovec, and Ivan Hrušovský.

For her creative approach to radio production, she has received several awards, including the Prix Musical de Radio Brno (1978), the Prix Italia in Ravenna (1998), and the Prix Italia in Assisi (1999).
