The male vocal octet was established in 2013, its choirmaster is Daniel Simandl. Singers are members of professional choir ensembles in Bratislava and Vienna (the Choir of Vienna State Opera, Volksoper Wien, the Choir of the Opera of the Slovak National Theatre, the Choir of the Slovak Philharmonic). The first concert of the octet was held within the Night of Music in the concert hall Klarisky in Bratislava.
The main goal of the ensemble activity is discovering, public presentation, as well as recordings of forgotten treasures of Slovak and Slavic national male choir works in professional artistic interpretation.
From concerts in 2014: concerts “A Cappella Pur” within the festival MITTE EUROPA in Regnitzlosau in Germany and in Kynšperk nad Ohří in Czech Republic, concert within the International Music Festival “Janáčkovy Hukvaldy”, a Christmas concert at the balcony of the Primacial Palace in Bratislava under the name “Singing balconies”...
In 2014 the choir released its first CD named “A Cappella Pur” with recordings of male choir works by E. Suchoň, L. Janáček, P. Chesnokov and N. Kedrov.
A DVD from 2015 named “Vzlietli orli vysoko” (Eagles Flew High) captures octet appearances in literature and music composition for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ľudovít Štúr. With this program the octet attended a tour through the whole of Slovakia.
