Slovak composer Robert Kolář is a versatile musician. He combines several areas of musical activities: performing, research, composing, publishing, and management. He makes no secret of his sense for experimentation and improvisation. Fryderyk Chopin's piano concertos belong to the treasury of the most played concertante compositions in history. The genius composer has worked out the solo part perfectly; the orchestration may not be as convincing, but as a whole both concertos are a balm for the soul. Ludwig van Beethoven's Fourth Symphony is a kind of "calm after the storm of the Third Symphony and before the storm of the Fifth Symphony". Outwardly an elegant work without major turning points or dramatic situations, it is nevertheless charged with inner energy.
