Protestant Church Music for Choir and Orchestra

This recording presents a selection of Ján Levoslav Bella’s German Protestant works composed during his years in Sibiu (Transylvania). These cantatas rank among the finest achievements of Bella’s oeuvre and among the outstanding examples of Protestant sacred music of their time. The collection includes cantatas written for Christmas, Lent, Easter, and the anniversary of the Reformation.
